Date 12 dec. 2011Download PDF version
On 30 November 2011, the EU Commission was subpoenaed by Dansk Automat Brancheforening at the EU Court’s office. The subpoena was filed on the basis of the Commission’s decision of 20 September 2011 in which the Commission concluded that the Act on Duty on Gambling’s rules on gaming duties were not in contravention of EU’s state aid rules.
Dansk Automat Brancheforening has submitted a request that the subpoena have suspensory effect. However, both the gambling and tax authorities have stated that the liberalisation of the Danish gambling market will steadily continue and will come into force on 1 January 2012.
